History of the Abbott Scholarships
Leon M. Abbott, Sovereign Grand Commander from 1921 to 1932, is the founder
The Scolarships provide financial support for the continuing education
of young men and women from Scottish Rite families and Masonic-related
youth groups. Since 1951, more than $3 million has been awarded to
students from each state of the Northern Jurisdiction.
Eligibility: Are those who meet any of the following criteria are eligible to
apply for the Abbott Scholarship program:
1) A Scottish Rite Mason of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction
2) A child of a Scottish Rite Mason of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction,
who is a high school senior or currently enrolled at an accredited
college or university, who has attained a minimum grade point
average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
3) A member of DeMolay, Rainbow, or Jobs Daughters in the
Northern Masonic Jurisdiction who is a high school senior or
currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, who has attained
a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Applications should be completed and then mailed or delivered to
Mark W. Stephens, Valley Secretary, or it may be submitted to the
Valley of Evansville Office. Please check with the Valley for submission dates.
Abbott Scholarship Applicants for Scottish Rite Abbott Scholarship Aid,
must personally complete this application.
Remember ~ If the Abbott Scholarships are not used, we lose them!
